Efficient silage compaction is the basis for the highest feed quality. With the new Fliegl BIG silage roller, Fliegl sets standards in terms of compaction performance, flexibility, and user comfort. The robust roller with hydraulic side shift, fillable roller body, and three-point mounting has been specially developed to significantly improve the compaction of grass and corn silage on the mobile silo – for maximum durability, minimal reheating, and the best feed structure.

The welded compaction rings with a diameter of 900 mm generate a very high point load and thus an excellent depth effect. This ensures that the crop is compacted evenly, air pockets are minimized, and fermentation quality is sustainably improved. With a roller diameter of 1114 mm and a working width of 2976 mm, the Fliegl silage roller efficiently covers large areas.

A special highlight is the variable ballasting. Both the roller body and the frame can be filled with water, allowing the total weight to be flexibly adjusted to the tractor size and the respective application – from approx. 2190 kg unfilled to around 3720 kg filled. In addition, there is the option of adding eight individual additional weights of 117 kg each. This allows the roller to be ballasted even more precisely and optimally adapted to the respective operating conditions – for maximum compaction performance and the best possible ground adaptation.

The hydraulic side shift of 500 mm on both sides enables precise and safe working close to the silo wall. Additional side guide rollers prevent bumping and guarantee uniform working across the entire width of the silo.

Side compactors are also available as an option, perfectly complementing the BIG silo roller and enabling even more efficient compaction at the edges – for a consistently homogeneously compacted silo.

For professional use, Fliegl offers an optional warning sign set for extra-wide equipment – an added safety feature for road traffic.
